Tabarez: Netherlands Next!

After the fight to the round of penalty kicks to Ghana, Uruguay finally qualified to the semi-finals. Oscar Tabarez’s forces were ready to grind the Dutch there.

In the match held in Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg, on Saturday, Uruguay had left earlier by a kick in minute 45 Sulley Muntari. However, Diego Forlan’s free-kick on minute 54 made the point equal.

In the round of penalty kicks, goalkeeper Fernando Muslera emerged as the hero of La Celeste. Two executors of Ghana, John Mensah and Domonic Addiyah, made fail to enter the ball into the goal. Uruguay won 4-2 in this match.

“I am very pleased. We did not play too good, but we escaped,” said Tabarez on Sky Sports.

Furthermore, this double world champion will face Netherlands in the semis. De Oranje, which eliminated Brazil last eight, called Tabarez not the opponent that could not be conquered. (more…)

‘Brazil Was Humiliating’

Criticism leveled Netherlands Coach Bert Van Marwijk told the Brazilian. The pillars of five-time world champion often considered provocation.

Netherlands Steel Spirit

First Dutch conceded before finally turning things around and won over Brazil. Coach Bert van Marwijk was delighted with his troops indicated the steel psychological.

Dutch ambition to succeed to stop the Brazilian won his sixth World Cup trophy. In a quarterfinal match held Friday (02/07/2010) night at the Nelson Mandela Bay WIB Stadium, Der Oranje pluck victory with the score 2-1.

Brazil nightmare finally came in minute 68 when Sneijder heading again ripped the nets for the second Brazilian to win his team at the same time send the five-time world champion came home early.
